Rhino Private Game Reserve
Just 30 km north of Hluhluwe the 22 000 ha Zululand Rhino Reserve hosts a wealth of wildlife. There is a great diversity of bird life in our birder friendly reserve and patience will be richly rewarded with interesting sightings.
Birds indigenous to the region and frequently sighted include: the bateleur, martial eagle, pink throated twinspot, paradise whydah, yellow spotted nicatar, Rudd’s apalis and the crested guinea fowl. Activities offered guided walks, morning and evening game drives, birding, photographic safaris, and tiger fishing trips and canoeing on the Pongola River. Lake Eland Game Reserve

At Lake Eland Game Reserve, Bushveld, Grasslands, Wetlands and Coastal Forests are the four distinct ecosystems that provide visitors with the unique opportunity of viewing animals as diverse as Giraffe and Blue Duiker, herds of the plains game such as Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, shy Mountain Reedbuck and the elusive Bushbuck in close proximity.
Entering the majestic Oribi Gorge through the towering cliffs of Hell’s Gate, birders are likely to see Narina Trogan, Starred Robin, Knysna Wood Peckers and Crowned Eagle to name but a few of over 200 species identified to date. While on the grasslands sightings of Ground Hornbill, Secretary Bird and Martial Eagle are common occurrences. Tucked away high up in the cliff-faced of the gorge are The Caves which provide spectacular views.
